Backslidden Christian
God is married to the backslider (Jer. 3:14). Christ's provision on the cross has purged our sins from the books in Heaven and given us the opportunity to experience God's mercy and grace. There is only one condition. We must truly repent to God and have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 20:21).
The Bible says if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us for all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
There are several keys to guard yourself from backsliding:
- Watch the company you keep (Psalm 1)
- Fellowship with other Christians and the Lord Jesus (Heb. 10:25)
- Keep your eyes upon the prize (1 Cor. 9:24)
- Diligently seek and desire the will of God for your life (Job 23:12)
